Mary Ellen Warner, 90, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011, at SunnyBrook of Adel of Alzheimer's. Her body has been gifted to Des Moines University. A family memorial service is planned for a later date.

Mary was born July 23, 1921 to Rev. William and Meta Becker in Grand Rapids, MI. She was united in marriage to John Warner on April 1, 1946. She lived most of her adult life in Des Moines and worked in various offices of the Des Moines Public School System. Mary is survived by sons, Mark (Jan) Warner of Urbandale, and Tom (Michelle) Warner of Crystal Lake, IL; grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Tillman, Allie (Aaron) Patterson, Max, Lindsey and Daniel Warner; two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Paul, of Arizona. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, one sister, and four brothers.

Mom's journey home was made easier through the loving care of the nurses and staff at SunnyBrook. Memorials may be made to SunnyBrook of Adel.
