DONNA R. MESSERSMITH
Marceline, MO
Donna Rae Messersmith, age 64, of Marceline, Missouri died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia. Donna was born at Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 25, 1946 to Richard and Virginia (Carla) Vantuly. She married Darrell Messersmith in June of 1994 and he survives her.
Donna did rehab/ construction for insurance companies and had lived in Marceline the past seven years coming from Lincoln, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Messersmith of the home in Marceline; son, Doug Aplara, Mt. Pleasant, IA; three daughters, Debra Aplara, Eldora, IA, Roberta Aplaru, Mt. Pleasant, IA, Angela Townsend, state of Iowa; stepsons, Jeff Cicci, Cincinnati, OH, Chris Cicci, Corinth, KY, and Andrew Messersmith, Council Bluffs, IA; stepdaughter, Joann Messersmith, Rochester, MN; brother, Tom Vantuly; four sisters, Nancy Gehriger, Sandy Greenwalt, Michele Kuntz, and Dixie Ulch; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dex; granddaughter, Ashley; step-son, David; and step-daughter, Laura.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with Rev. Brian Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the funeral home.
