Marilyn Aldrich

Waukee - Mary Agnes "Marilyn" Aldrich, 88, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021, at home. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Cremation will follow services and private inurnment will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter at a later date.

Marilyn was born August 16, 1932, in Des Moines, to Francis and Eva (Wellington) Mahedy. She married Stewart Aldrich on June 19, 1954, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church and they made their home in Waukee where they raised their seven children.

Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family. She was an avid reader and loved baking and cooking.

Marilyn is survived by her children Kathy Hamilton, Tom Aldrich, Jerry Aldrich, Marcia (Steve) Greenslade, Cindy (Scott) Dyer, Jan (Dan) Tyler and Deanne Harbaugh; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, her siblings Margaret Nelson, David (Deana) Mahedy, Sharon Rodish and Mike Mahedy; two sisters-in-law, Mary Mahedy and JoAnn Mahedy; She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart, her parents and her siblings, Edward, Frank, Jack, Bill and Daniel Mahedy.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday at Iles Westover Chapel where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Boniface Catholic Church or Aheinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
