Melinda R. (Miller) Krumm

Lincoln - Melinda R. (Miller) Krumm, 71 of Lincoln lost her 20-year battle with Parkinson's disease on Monday night, July 9, 2018. Born November 27, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964, B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa (1968), M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado (1977) and endorsed as a school administrator from the University of Northern Iowa (1984). Melinda retired from education in 2009. She was a teacher for 15 years at Sumner and Benton Community. She served the Center Point-Urbana and Colo-Nesco School Districts in Iowa for 17 years as a principal.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Michael Krumm; children, Marcy (Kyle) Pelecky, Amy (Nicholas) Bartek, Andrew (Michaela O'Neill) Krumm; grandchildren, Colin and Hayden Pelecky, Ingrid, Sawyer, and Crew Bartek, Oliver Krumm and Francis Krumm O'Neill; sister, Sharlene (Bill) Morgan; niece, Kelli McCormick; nephew, Joe Morgan. Preceded in death by her mother, Naomi Freese and sister, Sally Smyth.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday (7-13-18) at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, NE, 68516 (S. 40th & Yankee Hill Rd.). Visitation with family greeting friends will be 1 hour prior to service time on Friday. Burial: 2 p.m., Saturday (7-14-18) at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, 4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
