Phyllis Kay Wicks, 70, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Phyllis was born January 11, 1940 in Jamaica, IA. She lived with her family in Adel for 44 years. She was an avid sports fan, loved antiquing, reading, playing cards with her grandchildren, and upon retirement, building furniture with her husband. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, LeRoy of Adel; children, Hollie (Paul) Colton of Joplin, MO, Robin (David) Karlquist of LaQuinta, CA, Kirk (Kristin) of De Soto, Ryan (Trisha) of Waukee; grandchildren, Casey, Marshall, Paris, Kenadie, Kolton and Katlyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Elmer Burk; brother, Jerry; and sister, Patricia Walter.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
