Robert Mosebach

Melbourne - Robert Mosebach, 84, passed away from cirrhosis of the liver, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown on Friday - July 6, 2018.

Robert Ned Mosebach was born September 22, 1933, the son of Earl and Viola (Ringenberg) Mosebach. He graduated from Sheldahl High School in 1951. On July 11, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elsie Vetter. Bob was an active member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne. One of his fondest memories was cranking the homemade ice cream for ice cream socials years ago. He was also a small town entrepreneur owning both the Melbourne Inn Restaurant and Melbourne Car Wash at one time. He loved horses, coin collecting, the "neighborhood garden" at the pasture, and Gunsmoke. Above all else, the most important thing in Bob's life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving Bob is his wife, Elsie, of 65 years; daughters Becky (John) Williams of Overland Park KS, Brenda (Greg) Krause of Albuquerque NM, and Bobbie (Rich) Fisher of Troy OH; along with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents - son, Barry and daughter, Bonnie. Bob's wife, Elsie is currently battling cancer and is being treated for comfort at the Iowa River Hospice House. Bob and Elsie's desire was to be cremated, have a joint funeral and be buried together. Therefore, no service will be scheduled until Elsie also passes on from this earthly life.
