Sharon Ann Bright
Clive - Sharon Ann Bright, 63, passed away, Thursday, November 8, 2018, at home in Clive, IA. Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Iles-Westover Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, IA.
Sharon was born June 6, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Hebert and Phyllis (Trede) Smiley. She married Kenneth Bright on January 22, 1983, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines. They made their home in Clive where they raised their two sons.
Sharon was a homemaker, artist, gardener, and avid animal lover. She was devoted to those around her, always giving of herself to neighbors, friends, and relatives, without want of anything in return.
As a homemaker, a wife, and a mother, she was strong, kind, selfless, and always made herself available to whomever needed a helping hand or an understanding ear. Sharon took pride in providing a warm, inviting home for her family, and had a special mother's love for her two sons, Chris and Connor. Always supportive and encouraging, yet wise and kind, she was so proud of them both.
Sharon had a true love of animals. She had a gentle and compassionate nature that was demonstrated by the care that she took of her two Pomeranians (Marco and Siena) and rescue cat (Charlie). Many of the neighborhood animals knew Sharon and would greet her happily whenever she was spotted.
Art was an integral part of Sharon's life. Among the many art projects that she was dedicated to, Sharon was a longstanding contributing artist to the Art-o-mat project. http://www.artomat.org
Sharon is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bright, two sons, Christopher (Sarabeth) Bright of Austin, TX, and Connor Bright of Ankeny, IA; and her brother, Steven (Julie) Smiley of Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
