She will also be missed by her second family (Zipfs) in the "lower Canadian (US) provinces" as well as her 'children' Ceilidh and Caoimhe, her Border Collies who helped her through her fight with cancer.

A memorial gathering and celebration for family and friends in the United States will be held at the Iles Funeral Home Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa from 5:00-8:00 PM on May 17th, 2018. A memorial gathering celebration for family and friends in Canada will be held at the St. Joseph's Parish hall in Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.
