On August 7, 2014, Ann Kewatt passed away surrounded by her family.

Ann was born in St. Helen's, England in 1921. She came to America as a war bride in 1946 as the wife of Lawrence Kewatt. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1995.

Ann worked as the head baker at Roosevelt High School for 24 years before retiring.

Ann was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed traveling to England and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows, although, nothing made her happier than being with her family.

Ann will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her and will be remembered for her spunk and living life to the fullest.

Ann is survived by her two daughters, June McClish (Mike) of Urbandale and Janice Mann (Doug) of Ankeny; grandchildren, Todd McClish (Selena), Julie Alsted (Jason), Meredith Hicklin, Jaime Mann, and Ryan Mann; eight great-grandchildren, Berkley, Trey, Colton, Bennett, Drake, Beckett, Travis, and Shelby.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Rd in Des Moines. A private graveside service will be held on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
