Cephus Arthur Wright Obituary
Cephus Arthur Wright was born March 7, 1917, in Lucas County, Iowa, to Walter and Annie Wright. He passed peacefully at his home in Summerset on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn; sons, Stan, Bud and Art; and daughters, Naomi and Mahala. He is survived by daughters, Sandra (Keith) Bowman of Boise ID, Julia (Dan) Payne of Hawkpoint, MO, Sarah (Ben) Hamilton of Chatsworth, GA and Suzanne (Donnie) Bensley of Des Moines, IA; sons, Greg (Sue) Wright of Summerset, IA, Jeff (Charlene) Wright of St Louis, MO, and Kevin Wright of Summerset, IA; as well as 45 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren, 87 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Cephus served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 823rd Tank Destroyer Battalion from 1941 to 1945, earning a Bronze star and two Purple Hearts in Germany. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, February 2, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 1, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Summerset Baptist Church.
