Des Moines
Donald Guy Fuson, 91, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Donald was born January 14, 1923 in Lorimor, Iowa, the son of Guy and Leila Fuson.
Donald was a proud veteran of WWII. When he returned home from the war, he moved his wife and daughter to Des Moines and worked as a carpenter until the age of 80. In his free time, he loved to go fishing; he passed this on to his son and grandsons. On his many trips to Canada and Minnesota, he always came home with great stories, and always caught the biggest fish.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Donna (Mike) Deege; son, Todd (Sheryl) Fuson; grandchildren, Scott (Lora) Deege, Abby Deege, Libby (Jeremy) Sroka, Coleton Fuson, and Alex Fuson; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Wilma Kennedy and Marguerite Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Myrtle, and two brothers.
Family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. The burial will be held at Winterset Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 27. Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
