Jill Roberts Obituary
Ottumwa
Jill O. Roberts, 71, of 319 N. Webster died March 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by family & friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 18, 1943 in Davenport, IA to Charles Edward II and Alice Louise Brown Adkins.
She was a graduate of Fairfield High School in 1963 and Indian Hills Community College.
She was a dispatcher for Consolidated Freightways in Ottumwa, traffic manager for Deflecta-Shield Corp. in Corydon and Indianola and transportation coordinator for Norwood Promotional Products in Washington.
After retirement, she was a checker for South Hy-Vee in Ottumwa.
Surviving are Hank Shepard, her significant other; her two dogs, Jack & Casey; a daughter, Allison Lyn (Terry) Leesley of Pleasantville; two sons, Chad (Tracy) Havener of Bondurant and Victor J. (Rosalyn) Roberts of Clive; nine grandchildren, Steven and Jennifer Monk, Katarina Leesley, Jacob Havener, Chantel Phipps, Jenna, Kira, Hallie & Logan Roberts; four great grandchildren, Emerald Monk, Damion and Jayce Cannon, Braydin Phipps and a sister, JoDee (Denny) Cottrell of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Chuck Adkins.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. The family will be present one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

It doesn't seem like it has been a year all ready. Another classmate and myself were just talking about Jill . It seemed like we kept mentioning how she always had a smile and always said Hello to you if we happened to meet each other in the Hallways. I know her Family misses her but some others do to. RIP Jill

Jody and Jill's family, Jill was a great classmate and I feel lucky to have known her. I had the blessing of having her have a locker next to me through our four years of high school.
