Earl Schoolen Obituary

Earl L. Schoolen, 84, passed away on May 9, 2021 at his home. A visitation will be held on Friday May 14th from 5-7 pm with a funeral service at 10:00 am Saturday May 15th at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home.
Earl was born in Lovilia, Iowa on July 21, 1936 to Earl and Ramona Schoolen. Earl graduated from Albia High School and then served in the US Air Force force for 11 years followed by 13 years in the US Naval Reserves. Earl was very proud of his time serving as a Navy Seabee and retiring from the Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Earl worked at John Deere in Ankeny for 35 years.
He is survived by his son Patrick (Katherine), son John (Amy), daughter Lavonne (Jeffrey), 3 grandsons and 3 grand daughters as well as his sister Kaye and brother in law Dr. Donald Jensen. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Janice, father Earl and mother Ramona.
In lieu of flowers Earl wished any memorial contributions to be given to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. The service will be live-streamed just prior to the funeral at www.ilescares.com.
