51, born January 25, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, completed the circle of her life on October 24, 2008. Cheryl's incredible strength, courage, and determination will be long-remembered by many who witnessed her warrior's fight against cancer. Her wisdom and humor, love, and compassion will be forever cherished by family and friends. Cheryl's eternal spirit is free to touch the stars. May God hold her close and give her peace. Cheryl is survived by her partner and soul-mate, Mary Louise Sorensen; and by her father Gary Roland Grout, sister Denise Louise Heard, brother Guy Rayburn Grout and his wife Gail, nephews Stephen Matthew Heard and Jason Andrew Grout, niece Cheryl Lynn Klinski, and grand-niece Phoebe Lynn Klinski. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arline Ann (Blount) Grout. Cheryl received her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in 1980. She most loved her role as an In Vitro Fertilization technologist at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan from 1988-2001, and at Baylor College of Medicine from 2004-2006. A Memorial Service to celebrate Cheryl's life will soon be held at Harsen's Island, Michigan, after which her ashes will be buried at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
