FREDERICK CAMPBELL Obituary

Age 80, died peacefully at the New Hampshire Veteran Home, Tilton, NH July 5, 2007. He joined the Navy in 1944 attaining the rank of Signalman 3rd class with American, Pacific and China service. At the end of WWII he attended and graduated from Trinity College '50 in Hartford, CT. He worked in hospital administration and sales before founding his own businesses in Michigan. After losing most of his sight to macular degeneration he moved to Portsmouth, NH. Over the years he was a member of the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association, Detroit Commandery No. 1 Knights Templar, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, and many other veteran's organizations. Remembered by family and friends as a passionate sailor, avid conversationalist, and deeply patriotic citizen, he is survived by daughters Anne Campbell Williamson and husband Michael, and Catherine Campbell Okhuysen and husband Peter, beloved grandchildren Nathanael Okhuysen, Richard Williamson, Savita Okhuysen and James Williamson. Brothers Douglas G Campbell and Colin G Campbell, step-sisters Suzanne Dean and Dorothy Rudkin. Also by cousin Richard Goetze and former wives Patricia Miller Campbell, the mother of his children, and Charlotte O'Loughlin as well as nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be made to New Hampshire Veterans Home - NHVH 139 Winter Street ,Tilton NH 03276. Memorial service Sunday, July 22 in Portsmouth.
