Charbonneau, Jr.

Louis H. Louis Henry Charbonneau, Jr., 93, on May 11, 2017 in Lomita, California.  Husband of Diane, brother of Helen Mellett (Bruce), Ann Kolitio (Ronald) and the late Francis and Michael, and uncle of 23 nieces and nephews.  Louis graduated from University of Detroit High School and the University of Detroit, earning a B.A. and M.A.  He was a U.S. Army Air Force Sergeant veteran of WWII.  Louis returned to his studies after WWII and taught English at U. of D. for several years before moving to California where he wrote a column for the L.A. Times and published almost 40 books, from science fiction to Westerns (under the pen name of Carter Travis Young) to suspense/mystery novels, including a historical work about the Lewis and Clark expedition.  He also wrote scripts for the TV series "Outer Limits."  Lou was, in addition to his talents as an autor, an avid golfer, a talented painter, a disciplined, creative, gentle and witty man and an inspiration to his family members.Any memorial donations can be made to The Capuchin Soup Kitchen to the WWII Museum in New Orleans.
