Roman Halanski

Warren - Roman Halanski, age 95 of Warren, MI died February 8, 2021 at Detroit's Henry Ford Hospital. He was born in Detroit on April 27, 1925, son of the late Peter and Karoline Halanski. Beloved husband of Dolores, "Dee." Dearest father of Linda Ziecina, Roman Jr. (Sherie), J. Martin, Bridget (Alex) Jovanovich, and the late Jason Paul. Loving grandfather of Robert (Jessica), Craig (Tara), Zack (Amanda), Natalie, and great-grandfather of Joel, Nolan, Evan, Paige, Roman, Colton, and Sterling. Roman is survived by his sister Vicki Sivec, and preceded in death by his 5 brothers-- Peter, Steve, John, Walter and Joseph—and 3 sisters, Agnes, Marianna and Lucille. Roman cherished his brothers and sisters in law on both the Halanski and Sampson sides, along with his many nieces and nephews. Roman was a legendary, self-made, first generation Polish-American. A decorated veteran and 2nd Lieutenant from World War II, Roman served as a Bombardier Navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Soon thereafter, Roman became an attorney at law, accomplished business owner and real estate developer in the City of Warren and throughout the Macomb County area. In his spare time, Roman was an avid golfer and card player. His most precious memories were those woven around the fabric of his family and dear friends.
