Clinton Twp. - Russell Samuel Sandri, 89, of Clinton Township passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on June 25, 1931 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Evelyn Sandri.

Russell was a Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed following all the local sports teams and was often found listening to the Tigers on his transistor radio and attending Red Wings game as a season ticket holder. He was an avid golfer. Russell was beloved by his family and friends.

Beloved husband to Elaine Sandri (Nee: Wilson); loving father to John, David (Lori) Sandri, Susan (Dennis) Houston, and Mark (Linda) Sandri; brother to Ken (Sue) Sandri and Bev (Jim-deceased) Henry; Grandfather of Shane, Bailey, Grace, Logan, Connor, Kaycee, Tyler, Brandon and Samantha. Aside from his loving parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Bonnie (Doug-surviving) Trembath.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10th, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM in A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Warren (32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren). Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Lakeside Community Church, 33701 Jefferson Ave, St. Claire Shores. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund or St. Jude's. Arrangements and care provided by A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Warren.

Mr. Sandri was a great man. Growing up next door I remember bike rides to Stroh’s I’ve cream store, trips to Oak Park park and if you didn’t have money for the ice cream man, he always had extra quarters! My sympathies to the Sandri family, he was a great man.

Shared many rounds of golf with Russ, Bev and Doug in Florida. He was always a gentleman and had a great sense of humor. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
