WALDEN OLGA LUCILLE, 74, of Elk Grove, CA passed away on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013. She was born in Zolota Sloboda, Ternopil's'ka Oblast', Ukraine, on October 1st, 1939 to Kateryna and Jaroslaw Iwachiw. After surviving the war, Olga and her parents emigrated to the United States, settling in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Pershing High in Detroit, and received BS and MS degrees in Mathematics from Wayne State University. Olga was a pioneer, working as a computer scientist at Ford and Chrysler when there were very few women in the field. Olga is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Walden, children Katherine, Gerald, and Eugene, and grandchildren Anna, Charlotte, and Julia. A panakhyda (viewing) will be held at Klumpp Funeral Home in Sacramento on Friday, December 20th. The funeral will be held at Ukrainian St. Andrew Church in Sacramento on Saturday, December 21st.
