Rest In Peace Dr. Kane. Go with god. You helped me with all you had and I'm forever indebted to you for your assistance. You were one on very few that called me with love by the name of "Andy".

I have just learned of Tom's passing. I am so sorry to hear this. He was my classmate at MSUCOM. He made sure that we were exposed to the illness that is addiction and created a seminar for all students to learn about it. His aim was always to use his own experience, share what he had learned with us so that we could help others. He also trained with my Dad. I know he was a terrific medical student. Reading the condolences, It is obvious he went on to become an outstanding physician.

My deepest condolences to his family,

Dr. Kane, Thank you seems so insufficient... You were a miracle and you came into my life at it's most bleak. Today I have 8 years sobriety due in great part to you. I will never forget your smile and I will treasure the times my craziness brought it to your face... with a nod of your head and an "ok, ok just keep working at it..." I promise I will, I truly will. Thank you for taking me as a patient. God bless you and your family. Good-bye for now Dr. Kane.

Dr. Thomas Kane was a man of immeasurable stature. He was instrumental in my recovery and personal redemption. While my time with Dr. Kane was short he was there during the most precarious and tumultuous of times and when our treatment hit an impasse he had the humility, selflessness, and care to facilitate treatment with another physician to ensure my personal recovery. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Kane. May he rest in the house of our Lord for time immemorial. God Bless you Dr. Kane and may you rest in peace.

Dr. Kane will always have a special place in my heart, He was intuitive and well beyond knowledgable about alcohol and drug addiction . Without him I'm not sure oif I would have made it.
I had the honor or being a patient of his for over 10 years. Without him, I am not certain how I could have coped with my son's passing. He will be missed. And it took him a while, but we finally were able to share a sense of humor!

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Kane passing away. I work in the Medical Record Department and Brighton Hospital, he gave me a bell to put on my desk and then every time he came in for something he would ring the bell at least 10 times! From then on he was called Dr. Bell Ringer. I will miss him and his very nice smile.

So sorry to learn of Tom's passing. His family members can be very proud of the service work he extended over the years to recovering alcoholics, like me. He was a mild mannered, selfless man with great clinical instincts. Also, he had a terrific sense of humor.

Tom Kane saved many lives during his short time on Earth. May he now enjoy eternal life with God.

The last thing he said to me was, "I'd like for you to keep my AA book." And so I shall, Dr. Kane. And so I shall. You saw me through 'til the end of my psychodynamic training as well as my CAADC. Thank you. For holding on.

Tom---lost touch with you some time ago. Sorry for that. You were much liked by our old crew at Cheyenne. That was before you went on with your life with further education. We were most happy that you succeeded in a field that was much needed. It was nice to see and talk to you about that. You did well and surely dedicated your life to a right cause. God Bless you and your family. Just an old friend. Willard

Dr. Kane you were always my "favorite" doctor at Brighton Hospital. Your dedication to addiction will be remembered. Even with your own hectic schedule, when I needed help with the hospital scheduling you were always there when I called. I will always treasure your friendship. God speed my friend.
