Elizabeth Latshaw Allen Crawford Obituary
Elizabeth Latshaw Allen Crawford died Wednesday evening, April 9, 2014, with her daughter at her bedside. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. She was born July 25, 1923, and was the second oldest child of Warren Van Lee and Alva Lee Latshaw. She graduated from Polytechnic High School and loved Polytechnic United Methodist Church. Her happiest times were with her family, laughing and singing. She was a wonderfully loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in Breckenridge but spent her life as a Fort Worth and Polytechnic girl. She was outgoing and extremely funny with many close friends throughout her life. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was "Big Mom," Grandmother and Mema. She was greeted in heaven by her oldest son, Thomas Allen; mother and father; brothers, Warren Jr. and Nelson; and her sister, Joann. Survivors: She will be missed here by her children and spouses, Robert and Wendy Allen, John and Debi Allen, and Susan and Jim Colegrove; daughter-in-law, Jane Allen Milner; sister, Jackie Elkins; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
