Herb enjoyed sports all his life, from football and softball to golfing and fishing. He was an excellent golfer and won many amateur tournaments in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Herb loved to fish with his two sons and brother-in-law and enjoyed competition, and it showed in his trophy case. After his Army discharge, Herb joined Bell Helicopter where he had a very successful career. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 37 years of service and represented Bell at home as well as abroad. Herb was a very involved grandfather with his four granddaughters and grandson and enjoyed taking them to movies, parks and the zoo. He especially enjoyed seeing them participate in competitions.
