Joe Angel Almendarez, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood. Joe was born May 30, 1946, in Houston to Cresencio and Natalia Almendarez. He attended the University of Houston and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Joe retired from AT&T after 25 years and was a longtime member of Pentecostals of Fort Worth. Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Wife of 48 years, Margaret Almendarez; daughter, Tanya Harvey and husband, Isaac; son, Joe A. Almendarez II; grandchildren, Jake, Victoria, Haley, Maggie and Mia; brother, Hector Almendarez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
