Michael H. Ferrell, 73, beloved husband and soulmate, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, joining our son, family and friends in heaven. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Greenwood. Memorials: Please remember Mike by donations to your or to the , www.alz.org. Mike was born in Fort Worth. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1959 where he met his "sweetheart" and loved retelling the story of how they met - grabbing her hand in art class and not letting go. They have been holding hands ever since. They married Sept. 22, 1962, and shared more than 51 years happily married. Mike retired from Alcon Laboratories in 2000, and began his full-time job of fishing. He felt that living on Eagle Mountain Lake was like being on vacation all the time. He spent many days volunteering for various activities and enjoyed meeting new people. He was an avid reader and always had a story to tell. He loved to travel, making trips throughout the United States and to countries all over the world. He was genuinely a good man, loving father, a sweet-natured husband, and good friend. Mike was preceded in death by son, Richard Ferrell; nephew, Kirk Hard; his mother and father, Elizabeth and Buster Ferrell; mother and father-in-law, Helen and Thomas Hard; and brother-in-law, Guy Hard. Survivors: Wife, Jane Hard Ferrell; brother, Danny Ferrell; sister-in-law, Janie Conner and husband, Ralph; niece, Kristie Knight and husband, Jason; grandniece and grandnephew, Kami and Jake Knight.
