Peggy Ann Burnett, 84, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, 910 S. Collins St., Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Arlington Chapel. Peggy Ann Burnett was born Oct. 30, 1931, in Smithville to Ollie and Annie McDavid. She was a graduate of Weatherford High School, Weatherford Junior College, and the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Prior to her attending UT, she was a technical illustrator at General Dynamics. Peggy taught history and art in both the Dallas and Arlington ISD. Peggy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Engineers Wives Club, Garden Club of Arlington, and a board member of the Arlington Museum of Art. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Arlington, where she was co-chairman of the Music and Fine Arts Committee. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Weldon Carlisle and his wife, Frankie. Survivors: Husband of 59 years, Adrien Richard Burnett Jr.; daughters, Dianna Burnett Patterson and husband, Eddie, and Laura Burnett Davies and husband, William Kyle; sisters, Mable McDavid Davee and husband, Wayne, and Polly McDavid Ryan; grandchildren, Ted, John and Kate Patterson, and Will, Oliver and Noah Davies; cousin, Sammie Stanley and husband, Jack; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
