Shigeyuki "Ace" Sukigara HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- Shigeyuki "Ace" Sukigara passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, a loss of friend and sensei to many-husband and father-loved by all. SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at First United Methodist Church in Hurst. Ace Sukigara born July 17, 1937, in Nagoya, Japan, came to the United States on a cultural exchange program to teach the Olympic Sport Judo at Kilgore Jr. College and Texas Christian University. Ace participated in leadership positions in Texas and US Judo, and was presented the first Lifetime Achievement Award from USA Judo. Highly successful and respected, Ace travelled as a representative for high-end jewelry companies for many years. A person of wisdom and integrity, Ace will be missed by all. SURVIVORS: A dedicated family man, Ace leaves wife of 52 years, Carol; daughter Shari Clem (Neill) of Hot Springs, Ark.; son, Doug Sukigara (Heather) of Denver, Colo.; and three exceptional grandchildren, Elliot Clem, Mason and Sophie Sukigara.
