Thomas C. Oakley, 82, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood. Memorials: May be made to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. Thomas married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Louise Bell, on May 25, 1953. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 5, 1954, and retired on April 1, 1974. He was then employed with General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin) for 19 years. Happily retired thereafter. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Louise Bell Oakley. Survivors: Sons, Robert Oakley and wife, Patrice, and David Oakley; daughter, Debra Woodall and husband, Don; grandchildren, Melissa Bragan and husband, Michael, Chad Oakley and wife, Pam, David Oakley, Jr., Mariam Oakley and Carolyn Oakley; great-grandsons, Colton Oakley, Lane Bragan, Bryson Oakley and Gage Oakley; sister-in-law, Mary Shockley; and numerous extended family and beloved friends.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was a great man, a great friend, and a great co-worker.

Till we meet again Tom may you RIP and may the family find comfort knowing he is in a better place.

I worked with Tom both in the Air Force and at Lockheed. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences to Tom's family and friends. I knew him for many years at Lockheed Martin on the F-16 Program. He was popular and respected by his fellow employees. He was a good man. May he rest in peace.
