William Crawford Obituary

William Howard Crawford Jr. FORT WORTH--Bill Crawford Jr. passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018. He was 68. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the sanctuary of University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to University Christian Church or UNT Health and Science Center for Alzheimer's Research, in his memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on Jan. 13, 1950, Bill was the son of William H. "Bill" and Dorothy "Dot" Crawford. He grew up in Oakhurst and graduated from Amon Carter-Riverside High School in 1968. In 1972, he graduated from Texas Christian University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bill worked at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth in the material department. He most recently worked for Comfort Keepers Home Care Assistance and volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association and spoke to groups educating people on the disease. He was Mayor Betsy Price's appointee to the Fort Worth retirement fund board. Bill's greatest pride and joy were his sons, William Carter Crawford and Edward Dillon Crawford. He loved celebrating special occasions with his family, golfing with friends, and the arts. He also loved music and sang in the UCC choir for many years. He enjoyed photography, taking pictures of nature, especially sunrises and sunsets. Bill enjoyed his many friends. Bill touched the lives of many, especially the elderly and those with Alzheimer's or dementia. His life made a difference! SURVIVORS: In addition to his sons, Carter and Dillon, Bill is survived by his sister, Diane Hill and her husband, Leon; nephew, Chris Hill and his wife, Chrissy, and their son, Ford; niece, Kelley Whitten and her husband, Cody, and their children, Hayden, Kamryn, and Weston; and the mother of his sons, Jayne Witt and her husband, Al.

I was blessed to partner with Bill for subcontracts in the F-16 and F-22 fighter jet programs. He had a way of leading the suppliers to complete deliveries on time while successfully meeting all performance requirements. Always enjoyed his good-natured approach and happy outlook on life.

Bill , you knew how to have fun! You had the best mischievous grin and greatest laugh. Your whole body smiled , with your wild sense of humor. You always spoke about your great love and pride for your boys, now grown men. Even tho we got busy with the living thing and only run into you every several years, it was always great when we did. This earth is less fun without you. I hope you have a grand next adventure. Our deepest condolences to Carter, Dillon and family.
