Our beautiful daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Millican, left us unexpectedly Monday, June 20, 2011, in Arlington. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3401 Bellaire Drive South, Fort Worth. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Legacy Boxer Rescue or SPCA to support Lauren's passion. Lauren was born Sept. 13, 1988, in Arlington, where she grew up. She attended Wood Elementary, where she was on the Wall of Fame (for the highest academic achievers), Boles Junior High and Martin High School, where she played on the tennis team. She cheered for AACU for two years. She attended the University of Arkansas, then returned to Texas where she worked at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth as a massage therapist. Lauren had a contagious smile and loved meeting new people. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved her family and never missed a chance to be at a family gathering. She had just begun a new hobby of baking and loved to test gourmet recipes on her family and friends. Everyone knew she could be a top class chef someday. She was an excellent artist and planned on attending UTA this fall. She was a lover of all animals, but mostly boxers. She supported the Legacy Boxer Rescue organization. Lauren was preceded in death by her grandfather, Manse Millican, and uncle, Gary Perkins. Survivors: Her parents, Pam and Scott Millican; brother, Ryan Tharp; sister, Hilary Millican; grandparents, Ruth Millican and Jim and Jan Moore; aunt, Marcy Perkins; uncles, Ron Millican (Vickie) and David Moore (Diana); cousins, Josh Perkins (Mary), Jamie Milliman (Rit), Jacob Millican, Zach Millican, Chris Riley and Shaun Riley; numerous distant cousins; family friend, Amy Gibson; best friends, Aaron Rash, Chris Begole, Julia Pham and numerous others whose lives she touched through school, work and life in general.
