Robert and Virginia Carter Obituary
Robert W. Carter, 87, and his wife, Virginia Carter, 89, both of Granbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, he on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, and she, unable to be separated from the love of her life, on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. They were married 61 years. Service: For over 40 years, they were members of Acton United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 31. A family graveside service was held in Acton Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 24. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Music Ministry of Acton United Methodist Church or Friends for Animals in Granbury, where Bob and Virginia found their cat, Sunshine III. Bob served in the Navy Reserve before his 26-year career began at Alcon Labs in Fort Worth, where he retired as vice president of corporate manufacturing. Virginia was a loving mother and talented needle arts enthusiast. They shared a love for traveling the world and spending time with family. They were preceded in death by their son, Philip Carter; and two great-granddaughters, Jordyn Turner and Kirby Taylor. Survivors: Daughters, Mindy and husband, Bill Price, of Granbury and Julie and husband, Morgan Scott, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
