Thomas Earl Henderson Obituary
Thomas Earl Henderson, 87, went to heaven Sunday, June 7, 2015. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Agape Baptist Church, 3900 Southwest Blvd., Fort Worth. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Agape Baptist Church. Thomas was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Fort Worth. He served three years active duty with the U.S. Army Air Corps, obtaining the rank of sergeant E-5. He later was a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserves. Tom was very proud of being part of the design team for the F-16 fighter jet and many other projects during his 37 years as an engineer at General Dynamics. He also loved his Texas Aggies (class of 1953), assembling jigsaw puzzles, playing bridge, hunting deer and other critters, traveling, tinkering in the garage, making things and helping at church. He was known for his detailed trip notes, maps to everywhere and his ever-present hand-tied bowtie. Tom's memory will live in the hearts of all who knew him. Tom was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Earl Henderson Jr.; his parents, Hugh Whit Henderson and Mabel Estelle Hughes Henderson; and brother, Paul Whit Henderson. Survivors: His patient and loving wife of almost 65 years, Frances Wyonia Heslop Henderson; daughter, Lynn Carleton and husband, Bruce, of El Paso; sons, Duane Melvin "Mel" Henderson of Fort Worth and Ricky Kaytz Henderson and wife, Heidi Kathleen, of Fort Worth; sister, Juanice "Jan" Henderson Cooper of Fort Worth; brother, Hubert Melvin Henderson and wife, Wanda, of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Anita Marr Henderson of Fort Worth; granddaughter, Melissa Carleton Burton and husband, Air Force Maj. Bennet A. Burton, stationed in Europe; and many extended family members.
