May, Harold E.
Harold E. May, M.D., age 93, passed away peacefully at home July 8, 2017. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Rufus May; mother Floy; stepfather, Harry Watson; brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Lucy May. He was born in Rogers, Arkansas; he served his country in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain before graduating from the University of Arkansas School Of Medicine in 1947. He trained at St. Louis City and Missouri Pacific Hospitals and Akron General Hospital. He was an internal medicine physician in private practice for many years in Akron, Ohio and retired from B.F. Goodrich. A longtime member of the Akron Medical Society. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; sons, David (Nancy) May Esq. of Grand Blanc, MI, Dr. Robert (Nancy) May of Columbus, and Dr. Mark (Billie) May of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Jana (Chris) Holland, Bryan May, Susan (Jason) Schue all of Columbus, Scott (Erin) May of Honolulu, HI, Carolyn (James) Greenblatt of Milford, MI, Tom (Trudy) May of Pinckney, MI, David (Lanné) Bennett of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Adam (Andria) Bennett, of Columbus, and Seth (Jordan) Bennett of Lexington, KY; great grandchildren, Joey, Camden and Emily Holland, Joey and Alex May, Dominic, Vincent and Daniela Bennett. Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 14, at 11:30 a.m. at O. R. WOODYARD NORTHWEST CHAPEL 2990 Bethel Rd. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations in Harold's name to St. Jude Hospital.
