Jean Elizabeth Cumberledge, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Riverside Hospital. She was born September 2, 1923 in Canton Ohio to the late Clarence and Anna Class. During World War II Jean worked for Hoover's where she met the late Samuel (Paul) Cumberledge her devoted and loving husband of 61 years. They started a family in 1947 which became her primary focus for all her life. Jean will be missed by many including her daughters, Joan (John) Long, Judy (Albert) Blake; grandchildren, Scott Himes, Sandra (Greg) Jones, Corey (Mary) Greene, Stacie Greene, Jason Blake (Jamie), Rachel Blake, Tiffany (Eric) Jones, Ashley (Joseph) Walsh and Kimberly Green. Jean also had 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jean is preceded in death by an older brother Richard Class and is blessed to be survived by her younger brother, Marlyn (Jean) Class. They shared a love of family, traveled together, and he was her best friend, he called her daily. She was loyal to all of her family, friends and neighbors and a faithful member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church. Jean managed her own cleaning business, loved taking care of her home and doing outdoor work, enjoyed swimming, and was an active Red Cross volunteer for over 30 years. Jean was also a member of the Blendon Senior Citizens and Birthday Club. The love and many memories of Jean Cumberledge will remain with her family and friends as we move forward with her in our hearts. So sorry to hear of Jean's passing. I will remember Jean as one of the nicest and friendliest people I have met. We met in church and she was very kind. I know she will be missed by family as well as friends. I am unable to get to funeral home, but will keep your family in thought and prayer.
