Otis A. Ross, age 85, went home to his heavenly reward on February 1, 2018 at Grant Medical Center. Otis was born on December 9, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to Helen Fields. He was a devoted husband of 66 years, father and grandfather. He worked at Owens Illinois before retiring from a rewarding career as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office after 35 years of dedicated service. He loved the game of softball and was an exceptional center fielder; playing for both Owens Illinois and Post Office company teams. He was well versed in history and politics. Otis was predeceased by his mother Helen Fields, brothers Charles Ross and Donald Ross, daughter Myra Jean Ross, wife Mary Ellen Ross and son Otis A. Ross Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Mell, Andre, Gary (Tina), Charles (Linda) Ross and Joyce Poole; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Celebration of Life 10 am Friday, February 9, 2018 in the chapel of Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service, 720 E. Long St., where the family will receive friends from 9 am until the start of service.
