Zollner, Richard
On January 14, heaven rejoiced as it received Richard Zollner after 95 years on earth. There to welcome him were his parents John and Caroline (Schumick) Zollner, his brother John alongside his sisters Anna (Sister Rose Agnes), Frances (Steve) Haban, Caroline (Frank) Niklas, and Agnes (Eugene) Parsons, his beloved dog Zipper and kitties, most recently Oscar. Uncle Dick will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Born December 6, 1922, Richard was a lifelong resident of German Village and member of St Mary's Catholic Church. He graduated from St Mary's High School and the Ohio State University. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from North American Rockwell (later known as Rockwell International). He was also a freelance graphic artist for numerous advertising companies, Richard was proud of his country and service. He loved animals and birds and was very giving to his many charities. Visitation Thursday, Jan. 18, 3:30 to 7:30pm at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St, with the rosary 7pm. Friday, Jan. 19, 11am, in celebration of his life there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St Leo Church, 221 Hanford St. Burial to follow with military honors at St Joseph Cemetery. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Uncle Dick's caregivers at Ganzhorn Suites and Willow Brook Christian Home.
