Dr Caldwell was the best. He saved my life in 1982. He always listened and whenever I called he always scheduled my scopes immediately. I rarely ever had to go through a doctors visit first. I loved him

Pat and Family,
I am so sad to hear of your loss. I always was so impressed by Dr. Caldwell's tenacity and ability to keep up such a busy life after his transplant. He was a joy to take care of!

Pat,
Jim was a role model for those of us coming up behind him in post graduate training. He had a special way of providing calm and confidence in stressful clinical situations. He was a focused listener with patients and inspired confidence in them and their families. He was the "one to call' when in doubt. He made a lasting impression on us about how to be a true physician. Finally, he was fortunate to have you as his wife - loving, caring, and committed. He will be missed by so many... Pat,I remember Jim as being one of my outstanding teachers when I was in medical school and as a great colleague and fellow faculty member once I joined this institution. He was not only a great physician and scholar, but a warm and caring friend to all of us as well as to his patients. The world is a better place for his being here, which I think is the most significant thing one can say about another.
We are thinking of you,

Dr. Caldwell saved my life in 1972 Not only was he a brilliant doctor, but a kind and compassionate man who truly cared about his patients. I will never forget this wonderful man who saved my life .
I regret not staying in touch with him after I was too healthy to need his care. My sincere condolences to all of your family at this sad time.
