I was fortunate enought to have Dr Hinkle as a teacher while I was a graduate student at Temple University. He was a wonderful professor with an amaIng intellect.

I was a student of yours back in 1979 at Ohio State and your course in Sociological theory along with your typology of epistemology and methodology still survives in my head 35 years later!!!RIP, Professor Hinkle.

John and I are very sad to learn of Roscoe's death. He truly was a force in the department and a great inspiration in learning and teaching social theory. Our deepest sympathies go to Gia and his children.
