1946 - 2021
Ronald G. Friend, age 74, of Columbus, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Grove City Hospital. He retired from the USPS after 29 years and was a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran 1964-1968. He is preceded in death by his soulmate Bonnie L. Friend, parents George B. and Julia E. Friend, brother George Michael and twin sister Constance J. Sheppard. Loving father of Michael G. (Kim) Friend of Grove City, Mark D. (Trina) Friend of Trenton, IL, and daughter, Misty M. (James) Evans of London. Survived by brother, James (Tookie) Friend of Worthington; sisters, Nancy A. (Kenneth) Walters and Patti D. Salyer, both of Grove City; sisters-in-law, Judy Friend of Milwakee, OR and Linda Byers of Marysville, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by 7 grandchildren who he treasured, Logan, Michael and Charis Friend, Ally and Kyla Friend and Dylan and Brayden Evans; and niece, Shelley Burton. Ron enjoyed gambling, bowling, coaching sports and spending time with his family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY from 4-7pm. A private service will be held for Ronald with Pastor Howard Cameron officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery.
