I met Len passing through the halls of the Claremont where my mom resides. We discussed, on multiple occasions, his faith, family, and service as a WWII veteran. What a good man! What a gentle spirit! I was sad to learn of his passing, but am excited to know he's with his beloved Lord and Savior! Godspeed Leonard!

I will miss you my friend.

The loss of a family loved one stirs memories of the family member and their impact on a persons memory. When very young (5-8) I saw Uncle Leonard for the first time. I clearly remember him in his Navy Blues. I stood in awe of his presence. I didn't fully understand but I knew he was someone special. The second time I saw Uncle Leonard some 16 yrs later at my parents house in the Bronx. Our daughter, Tracey was 6 months old at that time. Somehow, Uncle Leonard noticed Tracey did not have a baby carriage to be chauffeured in. Something short of an hour later Uncle Leonard reappeared carriage in tow. A moment that both my wife Kris, my parents and I would never forget. Thank you again Uncle Leonard.
