Arthur J. Williams, Sr., age 84. Sunrise December 13, 1932, Sunset July 24, 2017. A charter member of Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church. He held various leadership positions in the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association. Retired from Columbus City Schools after 34 years of service and a U.S. Veteran of the Air Force. Preceded in death by father Booker T. Williams, mother Lula Mae Dudley Williams, brothers Daniel L. Williams and Johnny B. Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 42 continuous years, Charlene H. Williams; son, Arthur J. (Zakiyyah) Williams, Jr.; daughter, Christina M. Ballenger; children of a previous marriage, Robert E. Williams, Sr., John W. Williams; brother, George D. (Kathy) Williams, Sr.; brother-in-law, William (Rose) Handon; sister-in-law, Mary L. McClendon; grandchildren, Courtney Ballenger, Corey "CJ" Jameson Ballenger, Laila Williams, Arthur J. "AJ" Williams; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Visitation 10 a.m., Funeral Service 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church, 1399 Augmont Ave. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
