Barbara Cronin Obituary
Cronin, Barbara
1935 - 2017
Barbara A. Cronin (Dalton), September 10, 2017 after a full and wonderful life. Barbara was born on August 24, 1935 in Summerside Prince Edward Island, Canada. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Montreal, Quebec 1957 where she earned a Diploma in Nursing. She worked as an RN at Brigham Young Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 1959 and working at Mount Carmel West Medical Center. She was married to Paul G. Cronin in 1960 and together they raised seven children. She resided at Carriage Court Assisted Living in recent years and made many friends there. Barbara was the epitome of a great mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patient, loving, supportive, and kind, she always had a great disposition despite life's struggles. She found joy in spending time with her family whom she considered her greatest treasure. The family gatherings we shared were too numerous to count. She loved music, she loved to sing, loved to walk the beach, trips to the casino, bowling, bingo, driving through the country, reading the paper, quiet time, a good juicy steak, crisp bacon, and a good cup of coffee. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer, she lived her faith in the way she treated people around her. She loved God and praised him openly in her daily life, she called out to him in her time of illness, and she sang his praises in songs of worship. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by husband Paul Cronin, brothers James Edward Dalton, Michael Dalton and Dr. Ormond Dalton, sisters Andrea Holland, Elizabeth Leger, Florence Gaudet, Mary Dalton, Ruth Murphy and Carolyn Dalton, parents Helen and J.E. Dalton. Survived by children, Richard (Stella) Cronin, Charles (Elena) Cronin, Thomas (Kristina) Cronin, Lisa Cronin, Timothy Cronin, Laura (Jason) Bailey and Diane (James) Henry; grandchildren, Diana (John) Vianos, Avinash Minhas, Gary Gonzalez, Daniel Rubiano, Elise (Joe) Cronin, Daniel Cronin, Julia Cronin, Nate Bailey, Claire Bailey and Ainsley Henry; great grandchildren, Eleni, Niko and Stelios Vianos; brothers and sisters, Gerard (Sonia) Dalton, Helen MacDonald, Greg (Sharon) Dalton and George (Estelle) Dalton; brother-in-law, Joseph (Dee) Cronin; numerous other family and friends. The family would like to thank Carriage Court Assisted Living of Grove City and Capital City Hospice for all their care, love, and support. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 W.
