Beverly Ann Bettis Dunn, age 82, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 1, 2017. A devoted wife and mother, Beverly exemplified utmost loyalty and fidelity to her family and faith. Beverly graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1953 and attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, until she met her future husband, Lt. William M. S. Dunn III. Beverly married William on June 4, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, and after residing at Fort Carson Colorado, she and Bill moved to Columbus to spend their married years and rear their five children. She took great pride in being a hard-working homemaker for her family, and also spent many happy years employed by Dwight Spencer & Associates. Beverly loved art and classical music and the time spent with family and friends. She had a life-long love of her college sorority, Pi Beta Phi, from which she maintained enduring and abiding friendships. She volunteered over the years for many worthwhile charities including Kinder Key, Stephens Ministry, Columbus Literacy Council, and Girl Scouts. Beverly is preceded in death by her husband William M. S. Dunn III, her parents Russell H. Bettis Sr. and Virginia Power Bettis Oderr, her father-in-law William M. S. Dunn II and mother-in-law Lelia Wood Dunn and her sister-in-law Norma J. Dunn. She is survived by her children, Sondra (Patrick) Chen of Appleton, Wisconsin, William M. S. Dunn IV (Molly) of Upper Arlington, Ohio, Sally (Robert) Bradbury of Tampa, Florida, Elizabeth (Robert) Hancock of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Robert (Amy) Dunn of Upper Arlington, Ohio. Beverly is survived by her grandchildren, Peter Chen, Michael Chen, Julianne Harari, Sondra Noble, Tracy Dunn, Kimberly Dunn, William "Chip" Dunn, Sarah Hopper, David Hancock, Allison Hancock, Christian Dunn, William Dunn, Alexander Dunn, Andrew Dunn; and eight great-grandchildren. Beverly is also survived by her sister, Sondra Lee Bettis (Wilber, MD) Voss; brother, Russell H. (Anita) Bettis Jr.; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL on Zollinger Road in Upper Arlington. Funeral service to be held Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Trabue Road, Columbus, Ohio. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), 1776 D Street, NW, Washington D.C., 20006 or the Columbus Literacy Council, 92 Jefferson Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
