Cheryl Lucile Wilkins Geyer, of Worthington, OH, died March 24, 2018. A talented teacher, singer, musician, actress, and ballerina. Cheryl took pride in her Polish heritage and her parents military service in the U.S. Army. Born January 30,1949 in Lorain, OH to Col. Stanley V. Wilkins and Dorothy E. Wilkins. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents and son Wyatt Ellis Geyer. She is survived by a sister, many cousins and close friends. Cheryl graduated from Brookhaven H.S. in Columbus, OH, and earned a BA of Arts in speech and theater education from Ohio Dominican College. She also held an MA of Arts in speech education and an MA in counseling from The Ohio State University (OSU). A former teacher at St. Joseph Academy, OSU's Upham Hall/Harding Hospital and Thomas Worthington H.S., Cheryl retired as a Thomas Worthington guidance counselor. She had a green thumb, especially with roses, and her skill would yield bumper crops of vegetables. Cheryl turned her yard into a Certified Wildlife Habitat and had a love of animals that not only resulted in her many pet dogs and cats but led to her involvement in the Therapy Dog International. She was passionate about her family, students and friends, liked to knit, rarely met a piece of fine jewelry she didn't love and could not have enough sour cream on her pierogi. Cheryl's legacy lives on through the donation of her corneas. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center, OH 43035, where the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
