Obituary Condolences

Gessaman David Gessaman, age 88, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on May 2, 2017 at Danbury Senior Living & Memory Care. He was preceded in death by his parents former Columbus city mayor Myron B. and Marie Sommer Gessaman, brother Richard, and sister Ann (Kidd). He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wills, Wolfe); children, Greg (Aina) Gessaman, Linda S. (Doug) Somers, Sandra A. (Keith) Maurer, Jamey M. (Thomas) Everett; stepson, Walter (Debbie) Wolfe; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandsons. He graduated from North High School in 1946 and The O.S.U. School of Business in 1950. He was employed by the City of Columbus tax department. Dave enjoyed gardening, flying Piper Cubs and horseback riding. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Worthington, OH, Worthington Shrine Club, New England Lodge F&AM # 4, Worthington, OH, Scottish Rite, PERI (Public Employee Retirees Inc.). Appreciation is extended by our family for the care provided at Danbury and by Capitol City Hospice. Father Philip College will officiate at a memorial service to be held at 10 a.m. on June 2, 2017 at St. John's Episcopal Church, Worthington, OH with reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Capitol City Hospice, 1650 Watermark Drive, Suite 180, Columbus, OH 43215.
