Baker, David H. Sr.
David H. Baker Sr., age 76, of Columbus, passed away at 3:11 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Ann's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Columbus, OH on February 20, 1941 to the late Herman and Isabell "Hart" Baker. He attended Linden McKinley and later earned his G.E.D. Dave was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion, and The AmVets. He loved watching NASCAR and OSU Football. You could find him on any given Sunday watching his favorite sports or "debating" the hot topics, especially his thoughts on Trump, at the local V.F.W. or American Legion. Preceded in death by sister, Shirley Lowes and brother-in-law, Charles Beebe. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria J. Baker; son, Dave H. Baker Jr.; granddaughter, Tiffany K. (Dennis) Blair and their children, Mason Ray and Alayna Glory; granddaughter, Tena (Corey) Baker and their daughter Kylee Marie; brother, Michael (Brenda) Baker; sister, Nancy Staten; sister-in-law, Sharon Beebe; brother-in-law, Jack Beebe; Tiffany and Tena's mother, Susan Belcher; numerous nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 1 PM – 2:30 PM at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214 where Military Honor Guard will begin honors at 2:30 PM. Cremation will follow services. The family asks guests to be casual and in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to your local American Legion or The Veterans of Foreign Wars. www.OhioCremation.org
