Messerschmitt David James Messerschmitt, died on February 10, 2015, at the age of 30 years in Washington DC, suddenly and unexpectedly. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 24, 1984. David graduated from Anderson High School with honors and was drum major in the marching band. He also graduated with honors from The Ohio State University, majoring in history. David rowed for the Ohio State Crew team, with some of his closest friends. In 2012, David married Kim, his love and best friend. David enjoyed running, cooking, traveling, and Graeter's ice cream. David graduated with honors from Boston University School of Law before going to work for Mayer Brown and DLA Piper, focusing on intellectual property law. David was remembered by his colleagues as a brilliant lawyer with a very bright career ahead. David is survived by his beautiful wife, Kim Vuong of Washington, DC; his parents, Marvin and Gayle Messerschmitt of Batavia, OH; his brothers, Patrick Messerschmitt (Jessica) of Hopewell Junction, NY and Adam Messerschmitt (Meredith) of New York, NY; his little nieces and nephews, Marin, Grady, Ayla, and Hunter; his in-laws, Le and Fat Vuong of Orlando, FL; his brothers-in-law, Tom, Tuan, and Alvin; his sisters-in-law, Jenny, Cristina, and Amanda. Memorial service at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, 6474 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH, on Saturday, February 21 at 11 a.m. Friends may visit at the Church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. Arrangements provided by T.P. WHITE & SONS Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to the David Messerschmitt Memorial Scholarship at osucrewalumni.org.

I knew Dave from the University of Toledo marching band. We were both sax players. I did not learn of his death until today but wanted to say that he was such a sweetheart - shy and quiet in the sweetest way. This is heartbreaking and I am truly sorry for your loss.

First day second grade

Our hearts go out to you on this sad day. The service was an honor to David and will always be remembered. Everyone was touched by what Patrick and Kim shared. Tom and I have recalled so many memories of David, Michael, and Mark; starting school together, paying together, and getting into mischief together; swinging on the vines in the woods like little Tarzans; sneaking off in the motorized kiddy-jeep to a nearby construction site to go 4-wheeling; then sneaking back when they were caught; David winning the Halloween scavenger hunt by finding the impossible item,a dead mole. No words can blunt the grief of his death, but with so much love there is hope. With so many good memories, there is comfort.
