David Leroy "Lee" Ervin

Obituary Condolences

Ervin David Leroy "Lee" Ervin, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2017. He was born in Columbus, OH on October 25, 1936. Lee was a member of the first graduating class of Marion-Franklin High School in 1955 where he played center on the football team, even winning the championship his second year. He was a member of the South Gate Masonic Lodge #692 F.&A.M. He attended Franklin University and became involved with International Harvester Corporation where he remained a loyal employee, quickly climbing the corporate ladder to become a supply supervisor in the distribution center. Lee eventually retired after 30 years. Family meant the world to Lee, and he was also an avid Buckeye and Browns fan. Some of Lee's favorite hobbies were hunting, golfing, boating, and traveling. Preceded in death by daughter Cindy Lou and son Andrew Leroy. Survived by wife of 60 years, Nina; daughters, Terry (Bill) Seacrist of Cape Girardeau, MO and Polly (Brad) Thacker of Galloway, OH.; grandchildren, Brandy Hepler, Kelly Ullman, and Ryan Whitt; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian (Ron) Perry of Columbia; special family and best friends, Karen and Bob Morrison; many nieces, nephews, and other friends and neighbors. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 South High St., from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, where the funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Pastor Charles Martindell officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memorial Garden.
