Don Fuller Obituary
Fuller, Don
Don E. Fuller, passed away on January 9, 2018, after a short illness. He was a man who had a zest for life and lived every day of life to the fullest. Don practiced law for over 60 years. He was a voice for justice for clients who often paid him with a bushel of apples or a new coat of paint for his house. He never turned down a client for failure to pay his fees. He loved travel, reading, politics, photography, theatre, gardening and sports, but his greatest love was for his family. He and his wife Ginny, who passed away in December, had a romance for the ages. Their love and devotion could be seen as they danced the night away - which they did as often as possible. They always included their daughter Christi, a person with special needs, in all of their social activities. Don could always bring a smile to her face. Don is survived by his children, S. John Wilkins III (Shari and children, Nicole Rose and SJ), Leslee Wilkins Miraldi (David and children, Virginia, Emily and Daniel), Ralph E. Fuller (Carla and children, Carlee and Ross), Donna Fuller Wright, Ginger Fuller Mlakar (Tom and children, Don, Rose and Jake), Frank Ashmore Fuller (Deb and children, Zack, Ashley and Carson), and Christi Lynn Fuller. He also has five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Fuller of Carlsbad, California. He was predeceased by his parents Francis E. Fuller and Irene W. Fuller, his brother Thomas W. Fuller, and his granddaughter Meggan Rose Fuller. Don graduated from The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He attended The Ohio State University College of Law and received a Juris Doctorate degree from Capital University. He practiced law in Chillicothe, Ohio from 1956 to 2014. Don was Chairman of the Ross County Republican Central Committee for sixteen years, Chairman of the Ross County Executive Committee for fifteen years, and a member of the Executive and Central Committees for over forty years. He was an Assistant Attorney General under William Saxbe. He was also past Chairman and a member of the Ross County Board of Elections for twenty years. He was the elected Director of Law for the City of Chillicothe for twelve years. During his 60 years as a member of the First Presbyterian Church, he served as an Elder, a Deacon, and Junior Department Sunday School Superintendent. He was a Sunday school teacher and Usher Captain for many years. He served as President of the Ross County Ohio State Alumni Association. He also served as President of the Chillicothe Evening Lions Club; President of the Chillicothe Community Improvement Corporation; President of the YMCA Board of Trustees; and a Webelos Den Leader. He was a member of the Ross County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, and a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity at The Ohio State University. He was also a member of the Council of Delegates and a member of the Executive Committee (Board of Governors) of the Ohio State Bar Association. He served as President of the Ohio Printing Company; Chairman of the Local Government Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association; a member of the Ohio Legal Center Institute Board of Trustees; and a member of the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company Board of Directors. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14 from 4-6 p.m. at WARE FUNERAL HOME, 121 West Second Street, Chillicothe, Ohio, and immediately followed by an Irish Wake from 6-8 p.m. at the Chillicothe Country Club, 800 Arch Street, Chillicothe, Ohio.
