Donald Lippert Obituary
Lippert, Donald
1947 - 2017
Donald Robert Lippert, 70, died peacefully on Christmas Day at Summit's Trace nursing facility, formerly Lutheran Village, where he had lived for a number of years. Donald was a very kind, gentle man who lived with developmental disabilities and mental illness all of his life. Despite these challenges, he participated in his community with humor, joy and great faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Mae and Robert J. A. Lippert. Donald is survived by his twin brother, David (Margie Frazier); his cousin, "Aunt" Edie Mae Herrel (F. Michael); nephews Keith and Zachary Lippert; great-nieces; and extended family who loved and encouraged him. The family wishes to thank Donald's dedicated family of caregivers at Summit's Trace, and the staff of the Community Support Network who showed such loving kindness and professionalism as they supported him. Visitation will be held from 10a.m. until noon on Friday, December 29th, with a funeral service immediately following at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. in Columbus with Rev. Thomas Slack officiating. Donald's family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Client Flexible Fund, CSN at Twin Valley Behavioral Health, 2200 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43223. In addition, it is their hope that Donald's memory be honored by citizens engaging with, and advocating for, people who have mental illness.
