Elizabeth "Betty" Beickelman, age 83, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at Riverside Hospital. She was born January 27, 1934 in Columbus to the late Elba and Louise (Mear) Shover. Betty was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was a devoted member of St. James the Less Parish for over 65 years, where she and Earl volunteered for numerous activities over the years. Betty worked as a Kelly Girl for Palmer-Donavin Manufacturing and Schottenstein's where she worked in the Inventory Department for acquisitions. She also worked for The Limited as a merchandise processor. Betty retired from the St. James Cafeteria where she was known as "The Baker". She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting scarves and afghans for the homeless and the Christ Child Society. Betty was an avid baker, loved reading, working crossword puzzles, bingo and euchre. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Earl, daughter Mary Ann, grandson Scott Miller and 5 siblings. She is survived by loving children, Stephen (Lynn) Beickelman, David (Peggy) Beickelman, Katherine (Paul) Miller, Theresa (Ella Bandstra) Beickelman, Frank Beickelman and Paul (Ann) Beickelman; grandchildren, Brian (Jessie) Beickelman, Amy (Joseph) Gross, Elizabeth (Matthew) Marvin, Andrea Miller, Brennan and Alec Beickelman; great-grandchildren, Parker and Alexis Gross, Abigail and Zachary Marvin; and sister-in-law, Gloria Beickelman. The family will receive friends Monday, October 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 1652 Oakland Park Avenue. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or in Betty's name.
